Associate Attorney needed for Chicago office

Job Overview:
A prestigious insurance defense law firm in Chicago, IL, is currently seeking two dedicated and motivated Associate Attorneys. This is an exciting opportunity for newly licensed attorneys or those with 0-2 years of experience. The selected candidates will gain hands-on experience in managing cases from inception through to resolution, including arbitration and trial. Strong writing skills and the ability to handle a busy caseload are essential for this role.

Duties:

• Manage case files throughout the entire process, from initial intake to resolution
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing case updates and written reports
• Take and attend depositions, handling them with professionalism
• Participate in court appearances, including motions and hearings
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to strategize case progression
• Opportunity to arbitrate and try cases, both as second chair and first chair

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois
• Exceptional writing and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle a variety of cases
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with depositions is highly preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Illinois State Bar membership
