A law firm seeks an experienced eDiscovery Review Attorney to join its Litigation & E-Discovery Services (LEDS) team in Los Angeles, CA, with the option for hybrid or fully remote work. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in managing electronic discovery workflows and overseeing document review processes in litigation, regulatory investigations, and other legal matters.

Duties:

  • Plan, conduct, and oversee strategic document review and production in litigation matters.
  • Provide legal guidance and support to case teams regarding the document review process, including the preparation of review playbooks, training reviewers, and supervising privilege review processes.
  • Advise attorneys and clients on best practices related to electronic discovery, ESI search, and review.
  • Coordinate with the firm’s Director of Contract Professionals to manage temporary review attorney hiring and administrative tasks.
  • Manage teams of temporary attorneys, track performance metrics, and oversee quality control.
  • Perform detailed document reviews in eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity.
  • Review and categorize documents for relevance, confidentiality, and privilege, including privilege log preparation.
  • Conduct fact-finding and deposition preparation by performing targeted searches.
  • Collaborate with LEDS business professionals to ensure proper workflows are followed and quality control measures are in place.
  • Develop cost-effective and defensible document review strategies.
  • Assist with keyword development, document sampling, and other strategies to reduce document review costs.
  • Stay current with changes in eDiscovery law, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and related regulations.
  • Work with LEDS professionals to enhance efficiency and reduce risk and costs in electronic discovery services.
  • Travel as needed to client sites or other office locations.
  • Ensure accurate billing of time and complete time entries on time.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing complex litigation document reviews and eDiscovery projects.
  • Strong familiarity with document review platforms such as Relativity.
  • An active member of a state bar in good standing.
  • Experience in a law firm or with an eDiscovery service provider is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.

Education:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required.

Certifications:

  • Specialized training or certifications in eDiscovery are a plus.
