Job Overview:
A boutique law firm in downtown San Diego is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its specialized litigation team. This is a unique opportunity to work with top-rated trial lawyers on mass tort actions involving failure to maintain cases across California. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of litigation experience, including trial preparation, written discovery, motion practice, and depositions. Knowledge in eminent domain and appellate work is a plus. The firm offers a collaborative environment with the potential for professional growth and learning from some of California’s best trial attorneys.

Location:

  • San Diego, CA

Duties:

  • Manage and prepare cases for trial, including written discovery and motion practice
  • Conduct depositions and oral arguments
  • Assist in the development of case strategies and legal theories
  • Research legal issues and draft legal memoranda, motions, and other related documents
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on mass tort actions throughout California
  • Negotiate settlements and manage client communications
  • Attend hearings and court proceedings as required
  • Opportunity to engage in eminent domain and appellate work, if applicable

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil litigation
  • Experience with trial preparation, discovery, motion practice, and depositions
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  • Experience with eminent domain and appellate work is a plus
  • Ability to handle cases independently and work collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership abilities
  • Active member of the California State Bar

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Trial preparation and litigation experience
  • Strong oral advocacy and deposition skills
  • Negotiation and settlement experience
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
