A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, significant law firm or clerking experience, and exceptional problem-solving, writing, and communication skills. This role requires expertise in commercial real estate litigation, distressed loans, debt and security instruments, and creditor and lender liability. Candidates should also have proven experience in taking and defending depositions and handling courtroom proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in financial services litigation, including matters related to commercial real estate, distressed loans, and creditor and lender liability.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and handle all aspects of the discovery process.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and legal briefs.
  • Appear in court, present evidence, and argue cases effectively.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation and arbitration.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and execute case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and ensure adherence to court deadlines and procedures.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant litigation experience or substantial clerkship experience in financial services, including commercial real estate and distressed loans.
  • Demonstrated experience in taking and defending depositions and managing courtroom activities.
  • Strong academic credentials with a proven track record of problem-solving and effective communication.
