Job Title: Senior Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm in Stanwood, WA is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join its collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling divorce and family law matters, with a focus on peaceful conflict resolution and mediation. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team, mentor younger attorneys, and provide expert legal counsel while helping clients navigate complex family law issues, often without the need for litigation.

Duties:

• Stay up-to-date on relevant changes in state, federal, and local laws and statutes.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests.
• Prepare for and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration hearings as necessary.
• Counsel clients and associates in conflict resolution, offering strategic guidance.
• Represent clients in court hearings and argue motions.
• Develop and implement action plans based on client's needs, ensuring thorough representation.
• Regularly audit active cases and provide clients with detailed case updates.
• Collaborate with senior mentors to refine case strategies and legal solutions.
• Review and refine legal documents, including marital settlement agreements and judgments.
• Lead a legal team (paralegals, assistants) and maintain a positive, efficient working environment.
• Participate in legal team meetings and one-on-ones to foster professional growth.
• Conduct consultations with potential clients and offer expert legal advice.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with community stakeholders and law firms in the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements:

• An active member in good standing with local and State Bar Associations.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in family law, including trial, mediation, and arbitration.
• Strong knowledge of Washington State family law and legal procedures.
• Proven experience managing a heavy caseload while working independently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and lead legal teams effectively.
• Must reside in Washington State.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Washington State Bar License.
