Job Overview: A law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a skilled Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will provide expertise in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of construction and development agreements and handling litigation and arbitration matters related to construction disputes.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for extensive infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delay, and construction defect claims.
  • Support litigation and arbitration proceedings, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing for depositions, and participating in hearings or trials.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with clients, legal professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce high-quality work products within deadlines and firm expectations.
  • Adhere to firm policies and practices, fostering positive work relationships.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities as required by the job, including computer work, virtual meetings, and conference calls.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development matters.
  • Experience in transactional and litigation support within construction and development fields.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard agreements such as AIA forms.
  • Preferred experience in litigation or arbitration proceedings.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Admitted to the Washington State Bar.
