A law firm in Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking a motivated Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will defend employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims, utilizing their knowledge of South Carolina workers’ compensation laws.

Duties:

  • Defend employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation cases before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on South Carolina workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and precedents.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients regarding workers’ compensation matters.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to manage case files and ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the South Carolina State Bar in good standing.
  • Must have experience practicing in workers’ compensation defense or related field.
  • Proficiency in South Carolina workers’ compensation laws, rules, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated litigation experience, including hearings and trials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
