A law firm in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Real Estate Partner with 8+ years of experience primarily representing real estate investors and developers in commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling sales, acquisitions, financings, leasing, and due diligence for commercial real estate clients, along with a portable, strong cash flow business. Bar membership in New Jersey is required, and New York experience is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent real estate investors and developers in commercial real estate transactions, including sales, acquisitions, financings, and leasing.
  • Oversee due diligence for commercial real estate transactions, ensuring thorough review of documents and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex purchase agreements, leases, loan documents, and other legal contracts related to real estate.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on real estate financing transactions, including structuring financing deals and negotiating loan terms.
  • Advise clients on real estate development projects, including navigating zoning laws, land use issues, and regulatory approvals.
  • Collaborate with clients to design and implement strategic real estate solutions to meet business objectives and ensure successful transactions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with real estate investors, developers, lenders, and other key industry professionals.
  • Manage a portable, strong cash flow business, fostering and expanding client relationships and business opportunities.
  • Stay current on New Jersey and New York real estate laws, ensuring clients receive up-to-date legal advice on regulatory and transactional matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including sales, acquisitions, financings, leasing, and due diligence.
  • Bar membership in New Jersey is required.
  • New York experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience representing real estate investors and developers in complex transactions.
  • Ability to manage a portable, strong cash flow business.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience handling large-scale real estate deals.
  • Deep knowledge of real estate law, financing, zoning, and land use regulations.
  • Client management and business development skills, with a focus on maintaining and growing a robust client base.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar is required.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar is preferred but not required.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification or coursework in real estate law or commercial real estate transactions is beneficial but not required.
