Job Overview:

A law firm in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a docket of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions and premises liability. This role involves filing petitions, engaging in discovery, handling depositions, and attending court hearings, mediations, and trials. The Litigation Associate Attorney will also oversee their dedicated staff and ensure effective case management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • File petitions and other legal documents with the court.
  • Engage in discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Handle depositions, including preparation, questioning, and follow-up.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials, representing clients effectively.
  • Manage a docket of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions and premises liability.
  • Supervise and guide dedicated support staff.
  • Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with clients and colleagues.
  • Prepare and review legal briefs, motions, and other documents.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records and documentation.
  • Stay current with legal trends, practices, and changes in legislation relevant to personal injury law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Experience in litigation, with a focus on personal injury cases preferred.
  • Proven track record of handling complex litigation cases.
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure and evidence rules.
  • Experience managing a docket of cases and supervising staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • experience handling personal injury cases related to motor vehicle collisions and premises liability.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Certifications:

  • Texas State Bar License required.
  • Additional certifications related to personal injury law are a plus.
