Job Title: Debt Resolution Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in San Juan, PR, is currently seeking a skilled Debt Resolution Attorney to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing federal legal cases, preparing and filing legal documents, attending court hearings and 341 meetings, and providing excellent service to clients. You will need to possess a deep understanding of federal law, as well as strong communication and organizational skills. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to serve a diverse client base.

Duties:

  • Legal Document Preparation, Signing, and Filing: Accurately prepare, sign, and file legal documents, ensuring compliance and attention to detail.
  • Court Hearings and 341 Meetings: Represent clients in court hearings and 341 meetings, advocating for favorable outcomes.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis using Excel and assess financial documents (e.g., tax returns, pay stubs, payment plans) to inform case strategies.
  • Client Service and Case Interviews: Conduct client interviews to assess legal needs and determine the potential for case amendments, providing empathetic and professional support.
  • Case Management Support: Assist with case file organization, maintaining case calendars, and coordinating activities to ensure effective case management.
  • Bilingual Communication: Communicate fluently in English and Spanish, both in writing and verbally, to facilitate client interactions and court communications.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years as an attorney, preferably with federal legal case experience.
  • Licensure: Active license to practice law in Puerto Rico (USDC-PR and Puerto Rico State Courts).
  • Fluency: Strong proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial documents and apply findings to legal strategies.
  • Client-Centric: Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on providing empathetic and comprehensive service to clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • USDC-PR License (Required)
  • Puerto Rico State Courts License (Required)
