A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced associate with a strong background in international estate planning to join its Private Client Services team. This position is based in Parsippany, NJ, and focuses on providing sophisticated cross-border estate and tax planning solutions for high-net-worth individuals and multinational families.

Duties

  • Consider complex cross-border tax and legal implications and provide tailored estate planning advice to U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayers.
  • Assist clients with foreign trusts, pre-immigration and expatriation planning, and compliance with international tax obligations.
  • Offer strategic guidance for non-U.S. persons investing in U.S. properties and assets.
  • Address reporting requirements for overseas interests in foreign accounts, corporations, and trusts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including corporate, tax, and transactional professionals, to address client needs.
  • Maintain high standards of client service and build lasting client relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in international estate planning.
  • Proficiency in handling cross-border tax planning and wealth management structures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and creatively to develop client-centric solutions.
  • Membership in good standing with the bar of the jurisdiction of practice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
