Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a Global Equity Compensation and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join their Global Employment, Equity Compensation, and Immigration practice. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that provides comprehensive counsel to large multinational and emerging companies on various equity compensation and employment matters. This role offers the opportunity to engage with fast-growing technology firms, focusing on both compliance and strategic employment issues in a globally integrated environment.

Duties:

  • Provide expert counsel to clients on equity compensation matters, including the implementation and compliance of stock option (SO), restricted stock unit (RSU), and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) programs.
  • Address day-to-day employment issues such as leaves of absence, accommodations, return-to-office protocols, and independent contractor classification.
  • Draft and manage employment agreements, handbooks, bonus and commission plans, and related documentation.
  • Conduct multi-country analyses and perform multijurisdictional research in collaboration with global teams.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of research and analysis to clients during meetings.
  • Oversee projects related to equity compensation and employment aspects of global M&A transactions.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and support the development of strategic legal solutions tailored to their needs.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in employee equity compensation or employment counseling, preferably with some cross-border exposure.
  • Must be admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Strong academic credentials and exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Direct experience with the responsibilities listed above is highly valued.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

  • Proven ability to manage complex legal issues and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple priorities.
