Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in High Point, SC is seeking a Real Estate Closing Associate Attorney to oversee legal components of residential and new construction closings. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of title examinations, document preparation, and closing compliance requirements. The role involves hands-on involvement in facilitating real estate transactions, ensuring regulatory adherence, protecting client interests, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to complete transactions efficiently and ethically.
Duties:
Transaction Execution & Table Signings
Facilitate and conduct real estate closings for residential and new development properties
Ensure all closing documents are executed accurately and in compliance with state and local guidelines
Oversee financial settlement accuracy before disbursement
Manage and notarize documents as needed to complete the transaction
Legal Review & Drafting
Draft and review real estate contracts, deeds, leases, and closing statements
Ensure transaction documentation reflects legal and procedural accuracy
Evaluate loan packages for completeness and regulatory compliance
Client Advisory
Advise clients on transaction implications and address legal concerns during the closing process
Explain title insurance policies and other relevant legal protections
Review and discuss property surveys, inspections, and related documentation with clients
Title Review
Perform a thorough examination of title records to identify encumbrances or potential defects
Review builder title reports by internal procedures and legal standards
Business Development
Build and sustain relationships with key industry stakeholders
Participate in outreach efforts to generate new business opportunities
Conduct regular meetings with prospective clients and partners to drive business growth
Requirements:
Licensed attorney in good standing with the applicable state bar
Commissioned Notary Public (state-specific)
Extensive experience in real estate law and property transactions
Familiarity with land use, zoning, and environmental compliance matters
Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed title examinations and identify legal risks
Strong interpersonal skills to convey legal concepts clearly to clients
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
State Bar Admission (active and in good standing)
Notary Public certification (state-specific)
Skills:
Proficiency in legal drafting and document review
High attention to detail and critical thinking ability
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple closings simultaneously
Ethical judgment and adherence to client confidentiality
Effective communication and client service orientation
Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
