Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking two motivated Litigation Attorneys to join their team in Carrollton, TX. This position offers a hybrid work setting and is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking a salary plus commission-based role with no billable hour requirements. Attorneys will be responsible for handling debt recovery litigation, including negotiating settlements, attending hearings and trials, and performing related duties in a high-volume practice. Experience in collections is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.

Location:

• Carrollton, TX

Duties:

• Negotiate resolutions for pending litigation
• Engage in motion practice and draft pleadings and discovery
• Prepare and execute legal documents
• Handle a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
• Attend hearings and trials in the assigned regional area
• Travel reimbursement for hearings and trials
• Independently interact with staff, opposing counsel, and the courts

Requirements:

• Active TX Bar License in good standing (Required)
• At least 1 year of experience in civil litigation (Preferred)
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with courtroom and civil procedures
• General comfort with technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and professionally interact with staff, opposing counsel, and the courts
• Collection experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• TX Bar License (Required)

Skills:

• Civil litigation experience (Preferred)
• Negotiation skills
• Strong communication and writing abilities
• Knowledge of courtroom and civil procedures
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general legal software
