Civil Litigation Attorney - Trucking

A law firm in Cleveland is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with a focus on trucking defense. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience and possess strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Experience in litigating general liability claims, particularly in personal injury and premises liability, is desirable. The role involves defending against large commercial trucking claims and handling all aspects of civil litigation, including investigation, discovery, depositions, expert witness management, and motion practice.

Duties:

• Defend against large commercial trucking claims.
• Investigate claims and gather evidence.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses.
• Manage expert witnesses and interact with them effectively.
• Handle all aspects of motion practice, including drafting and arguing motions.
• Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

Requirements:

• Active Ohio law license.
• 1+ years of relevant experience in civil litigation.
• Interest in defending against trucking claims.
• Experience in litigating general liability claims (preferred).
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active Ohio law license.
