The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling a variety of immigration cases and will play a key role in representing clients in both family-based immigration and removal defense matters.

Duties:

  • Provide clear explanations of immigration concepts and offer strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Manage a robust caseload of immigration cases, ensuring all deadlines and client needs are met.
  • Conduct intakes and client interviews, especially for detained individuals at immigration centers.
  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense applications.
  • Review and assess immigration applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay current with changes in immigration law.
  • Advise potential clients during strategic consultations, providing tailored legal strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for testimony at court or USCIS hearings.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration matters.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients regarding possible benefits or outcomes of their cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven ability to manage and move legal cases forward independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience working with a variety of immigration petitions, including family-based, humanitarian, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), detained cases, and USCIS applications.
  • Proficiency in case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law and procedure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
