A law firm is seeking a Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney with a portable book of business of at least $200,000. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional communication and administrative skills, be meticulously organized, and detail-oriented. They will be responsible for negotiating and drafting various commercial real estate documents, coordinating transaction processes, leading teams, and providing legal counsel to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Negotiate and draft leases from both Landlord and Tenant perspectives (e.g., retail, office, ground leases, mixed-use developments).
  • Prepare property acquisition and sale documents for commercial real estate transactions (e.g., letters of intent, purchase and sales agreements, deeds).
  • Draft easements, CCRs, restrictive covenants, and similar documents encumbering title.
  • Create condominium documents.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of commercial leasing and acquisition/sale documentation.
  • Review Purchase and Sale Agreements, due diligence materials, and oversee closing processes.
  • Conduct closings, review settlement statements, and handle post-closing documentation and administration.
  • Draft complex operating agreements, bylaws, shareholders’ agreements, and other client contracts.
  • Draft correspondence on behalf of landlords to commercial tenants’ management and counsel regarding lease disputes.
  • Maintain organized client files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive matters.
  • Lead a team of attorneys for portfolio transactions involving properties in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in negotiating, documenting, and closing financing transactions is advantageous.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D. Degree.
  • 8+ years of continuous, specific, and verifiable experience in a large law firm.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, court procedures, forms, deadlines, and filing requirements.
  • Ability to organize factual and legal data into clear arguments.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive matters confidentially.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • J.D. Degree.
  • License to practice law in North Carolina.
