Job Overview:
A well-established law firm seeks a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join their IP Litigation Team. This position involves handling complex patent prosecution and litigation matters, including case management, motions practice, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in IP litigation, with a strong emphasis on client interaction, legal strategy, and mentoring junior team members.

Duties:

• Lead patent prosecution and litigation cases, managing case strategy and client relations.
• Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery motions.
• Conduct depositions and work closely with experts in technical areas.
• Oversee and mentor junior associates and paralegals in daily tasks and case management.
• Represent clients in PTAB or trial proceedings, and manage large-scale discovery efforts.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to develop case strategies and ensure effective communication.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of IP law and participate in continuous legal education and training.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IP litigation, with a proven track record in handling complex cases.
• Ability to manage cases and supervise junior associates or paralegals effectively.
• Strong understanding of patent law and litigation processes, including PTAB and trial experience.
• Must be licensed to practice law in California or eligible to obtain licensure in California soon after hiring.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and persuasively.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to be admitted.
• USPTO registration preferred.

Skills:

• Patent litigation expertise, including motions practice, depositions, and case management.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide junior team members.
• Proficiency in managing complex litigation matters from start to finish.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
