Personal Injury Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Clayton, MO, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to manage and litigate personal injury cases. The attorney will be responsible for updating clients, negotiating with insurance companies, preparing cases for trial, and conducting trials as needed.

Duties:

• Update clients on the status of their personal injury claims and communicate with insurance companies regarding demands and settlement offers.
• Prepare cases for trial, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and gathering evidence.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, as first chair attorney.
• Conduct depositions, motions practice, and other pre-trial litigation tasks.
• Evaluate the merit of personal injury claims and advise clients on legal strategies.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
• Collaborate with legal assistants and support staff on case management.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Missouri Bar and in good standing.
• Minimum 6+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on personal injury trials.
• Proven track record of handling 5-10 personal injury trials as first chair attorney.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work under pressure.
• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
