Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to support and advise case teams and clients on all phases of discovery, from preservation through production, as well as pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation when applicable. The role involves collaborating with attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to craft and manage eDiscovery workflows and protocols aimed at risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility, while ensuring the identification of key information necessary for successful case outcomes.

Location:

  • Providence, RI.

Duties:

  • Advise and support case teams and clients throughout the discovery phases, from preservation through production.

  • Handle pre-litigation information governance, post-production deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation when applicable.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, case teams, and clients to create and manage eDiscovery workflows.

  • Focus on mitigating risks, controlling costs, and ensuring defensibility of the discovery process.

  • Oversee and ensure quality of work and deliverables for associated Discovery Attorneys, Project Attorneys, technologists, and service providers.

  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the discovery process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in discovery law.

  • Licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.

  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Fluency with preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Bar license in the state of practice.

Skills:

  • Expertise in eDiscovery and related technologies.

  • Proficiency with Relativity is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with both legal and technical professionals.
