Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Associate Attorney to join its team in Cottonwood Heights, UT. This role involves providing comprehensive legal assessments and advocacy in and out of court while managing a diverse caseload in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough and practical assessments and legal advice throughout the consumer collection process.
  • Advocate for clients in and out of court, focusing on achieving amicable resolutions.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes and negotiate settlements.
  • Draft, review, and finalize legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Document account/file activity in compliance with Firm and client policies and procedures.
  • Travel to various courts within the State and manage all aspects of case litigation.
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations; formulate legal opinions for review by a supervising attorney.
  • Maintain responsive communication with clients to develop and enhance client relationships.
  • Attend continuing education classes, webinars, and seminars to stay current on legal developments and changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Utah.
  • Experience or strong desire to work in the consumer collection industry, with a focus on civil litigation.
  • Advanced knowledge of consumer protection laws and the civil litigation process.
  • Ability to travel to various courts within the State.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.

Certifications:

  • Active license in Utah.
