Job Overview:

The Defense Litigation Associate Attorney will handle complex civil litigation matters. The role requires excellent writing and analytical skills, experience in drafting and responding to discovery, preparing for and conducting depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation. The successful candidate must hold an active license to practice law in California and be a member in good standing with the state Bar.

Duties:

  • Handle complex civil litigation matters
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Respond to discovery requests and prepare discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients
  • Manage caseload effectively and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in California
  • Member in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Experience in defense litigation
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience in motion practice and trial preparation
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Education:
