A law firm in Gulfport, MS, is seeking a highly experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to manage legal disputes involving personal injuries sustained by workers on the job. The role requires handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases, including gathering medical records, taking depositions, and conducting discovery. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the practice area, excellent computer skills, and be licensed to practice in Mississippi (MS), having passed the bar exam on the first attempt. Preference will be given to candidates who graduated in the top 1/3 of their class.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and litigate workers' compensation cases involving personal injuries sustained by employees on the job.
  • Gather and review medical records, evidence, and other documentation pertinent to workers' compensation claims.
  • Take depositions, conduct discovery, and handle pre-trial motions and hearings.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to effectively represent clients' interests.
  • Negotiate settlements and provide strategic legal advice to clients.
  • Prepare and file necessary legal documents, including claims, pleadings, and motions.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, clients, and other legal professionals to build strong cases.
  • Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with procedural deadlines and requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with case management and legal research software.
  • Licensed to practice law in Mississippi (MS) and in good standing.
  • Must have passed the bar exam on the first attempt.
  • Graduated in the top 1/3 of class is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Education
