Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney with over 7 years of experience to join a growing employment law practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law matters, including employee handbooks, wage and hour compliance, employee training, investigations, and crisis management. Prior experience working with independent schools (K-12) as outside or in-house legal counsel is a plus.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on a variety of employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, employment policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Advise employers on hiring practices, contract negotiations, and leadership development.
  • Conduct on-site employee training on topics such as harassment prevention and legal compliance.
  • Lead investigations into employee issues and crises, providing legal guidance on risk management and crisis response.
  • Assist with developing and implementing employment law strategies and policies.
  • Provide guidance on workplace compliance, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Support clients in various sectors, particularly independent schools (K-12), with legal counsel on employment matters.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in employment law, with a focus on advising employers and handling related legal matters.
  • Experience in wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
  • Strong experience with training, investigations, and risk management.
  • Prior experience working with independent schools (K-12) as outside or in-house counsel is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state(s) where the firm operates.
