Business Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Attorney to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex civil litigation matters while working in a collaborative and collegial environment. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience in business litigation, a small book of business, and excellent academic credentials. Strong writing and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well both independently and within a team.

Location:

• San Diego, California

Duties:

• Represent clients in complex business litigation cases, including trials and pre-trial matters.
• Work on commercial disputes, contract litigation, business torts, and other business-related legal issues.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.
• Manage a case load, including client meetings, legal research, and document drafting.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, and motion practice.
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients, including managing a small book of business.
• Meet billable hour requirements (1,850 hours per year).
• Work effectively in a hybrid work environment (60% in-office presence encouraged).

Requirements:

• 5–10 years of experience in business litigation or complex civil litigation.
• Small book of business is preferred.
• Strong academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.
• Minimum billable hour requirement of 1,850 hours per year.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar.

If family values are what you want, then we have a firm for you. This local San Diego firm is not big by any standard, but that is its real strength. We know the managing partners of this firm well, and they are really great people. Dont be fooled though, this firm is not easy to get into and has some very highly credentialed attorneys. One of the down-sides of a firm like this is its regional limitation. They carry a lot of respect in San Diego, but they are not well-known beyond the County line. But if you would like to earn a good living, and watch your kids grow up in sunny San Diego, you could not go wrong here.
