Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an associate to join its prestigious Capital Markets practice in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with 1-4 years of experience in structured finance, including residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), securitizations, financings, repurchase agreements, and related agreements. The position will offer exposure to sophisticated transactions, and the associate will work closely with a dynamic team representing issuers, underwriters, creditors, and borrowers, including banks, private equity funds, and public and private companies.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Represent issuers, underwriters, creditors, and borrowers in structured finance transactions
  • Draft and negotiate primary transaction documents and agreements
  • Communicate with clients and transaction counterparties
  • Work collaboratively with the legal team to manage various aspects of transactions
  • Support the Capital Markets practice as needed

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of legal experience in structured finance, including residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and securitizations
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating related agreements and documents
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York (or pending admission for recent law school graduates)
