Location:

Duties:

  • Provide transactional tax support with a focus on the energy industry.

  • Draft partnership agreements, tax opinions, and other transactional tax documents.

  • Advise clients on energy-related tax structures and compliance matters.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients on complex tax issues.

  • Participate in professional organizations and engage in speaking or writing opportunities.

  • Manage relationships with clients and provide effective legal solutions to their tax-related needs.

  • Work closely with firm colleagues across multiple offices and departments to deliver comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

  • Mid- to senior-level associate (4-7 years of experience).

  • Strong experience in transactional tax practice, particularly within the energy industry.

  • Experience drafting partnership agreements, tax opinions, and other transactional tax-related documents.

  • Prior law firm experience is preferred, although large accounting firm experience will also be considered.

  • Strong academic credentials and proven expertise in tax law.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the jurisdiction in which practicing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Strong academic credentials required.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction of the office location.

Skills:

  • Expertise in transactional tax matters, particularly related to the energy industry.

  • Strong knowledge of partnership tax law and the ability to draft tax opinions.

  • Effective client management and ability to work independently on complex tax matters.

  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with clients.
