Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is currently seeking a skilled Immigration Associate Attorney with a strong background in immigration law to join its team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands-on experience in immigration law, including drafting petitions and applications. Bilingual proficiency in both Chinese and English is essential, and preference will be given to candidates with experience in civil litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in a variety of immigration matters, including visa applications and other related services.

  • Draft and submit legal petitions, applications, and documents in immigration cases.

  • Conduct thorough legal research to stay informed about changes and updates in immigration laws and regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide clear guidance and assistance throughout their immigration journey.

  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff to ensure seamless case management and client service.

  • Assist with the translation of client materials and legal documents when needed.

  • Handle civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.

  • Manage discovery, depositions, and trial preparation for civil litigation cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.

  • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law.

  • Civil litigation experience is a plus, though not required.

  • Proven experience in drafting legal petitions and documents.

  • Bilingual proficiency in both Chinese and English (written and spoken).

  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
