Associate Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney to join their team in Las Vegas, NV. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an attorney to grow professionally within an established law firm that is passionate about advocating for clients' rights. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior attorneys, managing their caseload while receiving guidance and mentorship. You will be part of a collaborative immigration team, handling a variety of cases related to removal defense, family-based petitions, and other immigration processes.

Duties

• Guide clients through complex immigration laws and provide strategic legal solutions.
• Represent detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload, ensuring all deadlines are met and cases are handled efficiently.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained clients and gather pertinent case details.
• Prepare and submit various immigration applications, such as family-based petitions and removal defense.
• Review immigration applications and ensure all required documents are properly submitted.
• Liaise with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to address immigration law changes.
• Meet with clients for consultations, developing tailored legal strategies to fit their needs.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS hearings and testimonies.
• Conduct legal analysis to assess the potential benefits for clients' immigration cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for a wide range of immigration-related cases.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong ability to manage a caseload and ensure timely case progression.

• Skills:

  • Strong teamwork abilities with a focus on collaboration and mutual support.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience with family-based immigration petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR procedures, and USCIS applications.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in case management software is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
