A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 2–5 years of experience to join its Labor & Employment and Public Law Practice Groups. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on various matters involving employment law, labor relations, and municipal legal issues. The ideal candidate will contribute to providing exceptional legal services to employers and governmental entities, with an emphasis on collaboration, client-focused solutions, and professional development.

Duties

  • Provide legal advice and representation to employers and governmental entities on labor, employment, and municipal law matters.
  • Appear before administrative agencies and courts to advocate for clients in employment and labor disputes.
  • Draft and negotiate collective bargaining agreements and represent clients in labor arbitrations.
  • Handle matters involving Open Meeting laws and Public Record compliance.
  • Develop and revise personnel policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and best practices.
  • Conduct workplace investigations related to employment disputes or policy violations.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver tailored, innovative legal strategies and solutions.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on labor, employment, or municipal matters.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills to provide high-quality legal counsel.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with administrative proceedings, court appearances, and collective bargaining negotiations.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar (jurisdiction of the role) or ability to obtain membership promptly.
