A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3-7 years of experience looking to advance their career within a collaborative and dynamic practice. The role offers flexibility with the ability to work from home after the initial training period, along with exposure to a variety of legal matters. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.

Duties:

  • Maintain 35 billable hours per month.
  • Collaborate with supervising attorney and legal team to develop legal strategies and manage client cases.
  • Research legal issues and prepare various legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines and participate in case management tasks.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations as required.
  • Communicate promptly with clients, maintaining strong relationships and keeping them informed on case developments.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in strategy meetings with supervising attorney, including case assessments, procedural updates, and discussing next steps.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal developments and engage in continuing legal education as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervising attorney.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
  • Capability to function efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related tools.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative setting.
