Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate Attorney to join its practice group in Pittsburgh, PA. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and handle a broad range of bankruptcy and restructuring cases. The position focuses on delivering proactive, client-centric legal services while supporting the firm’s clients in varied and complex legal matters.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice group.
  • Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, receiverships, and associated litigation.
  • Draft and negotiate forbearance agreements, bankruptcy plans, and corporate documents.
  • Prepare and review motions, briefs, bankruptcy plans, and other legal filings.
  • Represent borrowers in financing transactions and related legal matters.
  • Assist with preparing expert reports, mediation statements, and other litigation support materials.
  • Attend court proceedings and mediation sessions as required.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain a commitment to high-quality legal services.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • 3–6 years of experience in estate law, bankruptcy, or restructuring preferred.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and editing skills with an emphasis on persuasive advocacy.
  • Professionalism and teamwork-oriented mindset.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Pennsylvania Bar admission or ability to become licensed.

Skills

  • Experience with practice-specific software and legal research tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with iManage or other document management systems is preferred.
  • Strong project management and time management abilities.
  • Experience in business development and direct client engagement is an advantage.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments and complex cases.
