A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney for their Atlanta, GA office.

 

Job Overview:

The Mid-level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing employee organizations in various traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, petitions for recognition, and other administrative proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess a stellar academic background, a dedicated work ethic, and outstanding writing and research abilities.

 

Duties:

  • Advocate for employee organizations in collective bargaining negotiations with employers to secure favorable terms and conditions of employment.
  • Handle grievance arbitrations on behalf of employee organizations, including preparing cases, presenting evidence, and arguing before arbitrators.
  • Represent employee organizations in unfair labor practice charges filed with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) or other relevant agencies.
  • Assist employee organizations in filing petitions for recognition and navigating the process of obtaining bargaining rights.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to employee organizations on various labor-related issues, including contract interpretation and compliance with labor laws.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, briefs, and other documents related to traditional labor matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective strategies for achieving organizational goals in labor relations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Georgia or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • 4-7 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with a focus on representing employee organizations in traditional labor matters.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, and other aspects of labor relations.
  • Superior academic credentials, including a distinguished academic record.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach to legal analysis and documentation.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and providing high-quality legal representation.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Georgia or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
