Junior or Mid-Level Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a highly qualified Junior or Mid-Level Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney to join its Financial Restructuring Group in New York City. This position is ideal for an associate with 3-4 years of experience in out-of-court and in-court restructurings, looking to expand their expertise in complex financial restructuring matters.

Location:

Duties:

• Handle out-of-court and in-court financial restructurings.
• Draft restructuring-related legal documents, including plans, disclosure statements, and plan support agreements.
• Participate in 363 sales and advise clients on related legal aspects.
• Analyze and draft intercreditor and subordination agreements.
• Assist in the litigation of clawback actions.
• Review and analyze leases, executory contracts, and intellectual property licenses.
• Provide counsel on matters related to secured transactions under Article 9 of the UCC.

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of experience in financial restructuring at a top-tier law firm.
• Broad experience in bankruptcy law, including familiarity with the Bankruptcy Code.
• Strong understanding of Article 9 secured transactions.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex restructuring agreements.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar or relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

• Expertise in financial restructuring, bankruptcy law, and secured transactions.
• Proficient in legal drafting and negotiation.
