A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join a dynamic team in Marina del Rey, CA. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to handle a manageable caseload while gaining exposure to all aspects of workers' compensation law, from case initiation through discovery, settlement, trial, and appeals. Ideal candidates will possess 2+ years of experience and the ability to manage cases efficiently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Duties

  • Manage workers' compensation defense cases from start to finish, including discovery, settlement, trial, and appeals.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and handle motions and filings.
  • Work closely with clients, providing clear communication and strategy advice throughout the case.
  • Develop and implement case strategies aimed at achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Manage case files and ensure all documentation is organized and compliant with firm policies.
  • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide the highest level of service to clients.
  • Engage in Uninsured Employers and Lien litigation when applicable.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for client interaction and legal documentation.
  • Ability to effectively organize case files and manage a caseload.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • Experience in Uninsured Employers and Lien litigation is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active and valid license to practice law in California.
