Job Title: Junior to Mid-Level Bankruptcy Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in New York City, NY is seeking a junior to mid-level Associate Attorney to join its dynamic Restructuring & Bankruptcy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex bankruptcy matters, including in-court and out-of-court restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, and distressed financing, with a wide range of clients from various industries. The ideal candidate will bring experience in bankruptcy law, particularly with debt exchange transactions, pleadings, and transactional documents related to M&A and finance.

Duties:

  • Work on diverse restructuring matters across different market sectors nationwide.
  • Handle both in-court and out-of-court restructuring transactions.
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, and transactional documents for M&A and finance transactions.
  • Participate in distressed M&A and distressed financing transactions.
  • Engage in cross-border restructurings involving multiple jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate closely with senior attorneys to manage complex bankruptcy cases.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of general restructuring and bankruptcy law experience.
  • Familiarity with debt exchange transactions and bankruptcy court procedures.
  • Strong drafting skills for transactional documents and pleadings.
  • Experience in distressed M&A and distressed financing preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the Bar in New York or eligible to sit for the New York Bar exam.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
