A law firm in Nashville, TN is seeking a detail-oriented Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in employment law and litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills, with a demonstrated desire to participate actively in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents related to employment litigation.
  • Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on various labor and employment matters.
  • Assist in conducting internal investigations and preparing investigative reports.
  • Stay updated on developments in labor and employment law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Tennessee State Bar in good standing.
  • 2-5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Strong academic credentials, including clerkship experience and participation in law review preferred.
  • Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience handling employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Familiarity with administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC and NLRB.
  • Experience advising clients on employment-related policies and practices.
