A law firm in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a highly skilled Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will provide expert legal guidance on a range of renewable energy projects, focusing on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities, along with expertise in smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. Strong client service skills, interpersonal collaboration, and effective communication are essential. The role requires a JD degree, active Bar membership, and a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel clients on legal matters related to renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Oversee and manage the negotiation, drafting, and execution of power purchase agreements and other key contracts.
  • Provide legal advice on facilities operations, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
  • Advise clients on issues related to smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging trends and technologies in the renewable energy sector.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to resolve legal challenges and support project success.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes related to renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain a portable book of business, demonstrating a strong client base in the renewable energy sector.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.
  • Proven track record of a portable book of business.
  • Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency.
