Municipal Attorney

A law firm in Detroit, MI, is actively seeking a Municipal Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience to play a crucial role in handling legal matters related to municipal law. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to local government entities.

Duties:

• Advise local government officials on legal issues related to municipal law.
• Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Represent the municipality in litigation, administrative hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Guide land use, zoning, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Collaborate with government departments and agencies to ensure legal compliance.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Michigan State Bar with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of municipal law and local government operations.
• Experience in handling land use, zoning, and regulatory compliance issues.

Education:
