Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in northwest Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its expanding estate planning and probate team. This role involves drafting legal documents, representing clients in probate matters, and building strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong advocacy skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to client service in estate planning and probate law.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including contracts, wills, trusts, affidavits, powers of attorney, and court filings.
  • Provide advocacy on behalf of clients in estate planning and probate matters.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and timely case updates.
  • Respond to client inquiries and concerns, and handle initial case intake as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and stay updated on relevant laws and trends.
  • Attend in-person hearings, consultations, and trials as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar and eligibility to practice in Texas.
  • Experience or a demonstrated interest in estate planning and probate law.
  • Ability to meet a billable hour requirement of 1,200 hours per year.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends based on client needs.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong writing, research, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and advocacy.
  • Knowledgeable in legal research tools and software.
  • Effective communicator, skilled in client and colleague interactions.
