Job Overview:
A dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to join its rapidly growing first-party property practice. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes litigation in the state of Texas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in first-party property litigation, with a focus on Texas law. This role provides a chance to work within a collaborative team while managing complex litigation matters.

Location:

  • Ponte Vedra, FL

Duties:

  • Navigate Texas' pre-suit requirements for first-party property claims.
  • Prepare various types of motions, pleadings, exhibits, and correspondence.
  • Respond to discovery requests, including production requests, admissions, and interrogatories.
  • Prepare discovery requests for policyholders and manage responses from opposing counsel.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses, such as general contractors and engineers.
  • Attend mediations as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in first-party property litigation (plaintiffs or defense), specifically in Texas.
  • Active member in good standing with the Texas Bar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (active and in good standing).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of first-party property litigation and Texas law.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Proficient in responding to and managing discovery requests.
  • Experience with depositions, mediation, and coordinating with expert witnesses.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high caseload.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with legal and support staff.
