Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Boston, MA is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to manage all facets of litigation in state and federal courts. The successful candidate will handle pre-trial preparation, court appearances, and trial proceedings, demonstrating a proven track record of success in jury trials. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, along with the ability to manage a substantial caseload from inception through to verdict.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of litigation cases from start to finish, including pre-trial preparation, court appearances, motions, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and trial.
• Meet with clients to discuss case details and file lawsuits as necessary.
• Propound and respond to written discovery requests.
• Schedule and attend fact witness depositions and retain appropriate experts for cases.
• Prepare for and attend all hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Prepare cases for trial, including developing trial strategies and presenting cases in court.
• Draft and file post-trial motions as needed.
• Attend file audits, litigation attorney meetings, and trial clinics.
• Provide direction and guidance to a team of support staff to ensure case progression.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• License in good standing to practice law in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 2 jury trials as first chair, with a proven track record of winning.
• Ability to handle a large and active caseload effectively from filing through verdict.
• Experience providing direction and guidance to a team of staff.
• Strong courtroom presence and eagerness to try cases.
