A law firm is seeking an ERISA Associate Attorney in New York City, NY.

Job Overview:

The ERISA Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and support on matters pertaining to ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and other relevant employee benefits laws. The ideal candidate should possess at least 3-4 years of experience in the field, strong academic credentials, and NY Bar admission. Exceptional drafting and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, and related employee benefits laws.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on matters involving executive compensation, qualified retirement plans, and health and welfare benefits.
  • Draft legal documents, including plan documents, amendments, and compliance filings.
  • Assist in the negotiation and drafting of agreements related to employee benefit plans.
  • Represent clients in ERISA litigation matters, including disputes related to plan administration and fiduciary duties.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting employee benefits.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in ERISA and employee benefits law.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, and related regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional drafting and communication abilities.
  • NY Bar admission.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
