A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with expertise in bankruptcy and creditor's rights to join their team in Irving, TX. The successful candidate will primarily manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters and handle various responsibilities within this field.

 

Job Overview:

  • Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters
  • Draft and review all pleadings and claims
  • Respond to objections and motions concerning client rights
  • Attend scheduled hearings
  • Respond to firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Duties:

  • Document preparation and execution
  • Draft and review all client filings
  • Monitor electronic filings (ECFs)
  • Maintain regular communication with clients
  • Stay updated on bankruptcy rules/laws and creditor rights laws
  • Utilize case management systems proficiently
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system
  • Maintain exceptional work ethic and professionalism
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Effective time management
  • Strong communication skills

 

Requirements:

  • JD Law degree
  • 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience
  • Experience in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
  • License to practice law in Florida preferred
  • Admitted to practice law in Florida and Federal Districts in Florida
  • Familiarity with Florida bankruptcy courts, local rules, and procedures
  • Experience in bankruptcy litigation a plus
  • Ability to manage high-volume workload and client contact

 

Skills:

  • Proficient in consumer loan documents
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Familiarity with case management systems

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in Florida and Federal Districts in Florida
