Job Overview:
A law firm in Seattle, WA, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience practicing law, focusing on asbestos/toxic tort defense, land use matters, and transportation/trucking defense litigation. The role involves representing clients in court, advising on legal issues, and developing defense strategies.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents pertinent to litigation cases.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and assist in developing defense strategies.
  • Gather evidence and conduct research to formulate defense strategies or initiate legal action.
  • Prepare legal briefs, develop arguments, and strategize testimony for case presentation.
  • Represent clients in court and before government agencies.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues with specialized knowledge to establish legal proceedings.
  • Communicate with and maintain relationships with expert witnesses.
  • Prepare responses to written discovery requests and defend clients during depositions.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.
  • 4-6 years of experience practicing law, preferably in litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in Washington state; additional licenses in Oregon and/or Alaska are a plus.
  • Experience in asbestos/toxic tort defense, land use, and transportation/trucking defense litigation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Washington state; additional licenses in Oregon and/or Alaska are a plus.
