This individual will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, preparing patent opinion letters, providing patent counseling, and conducting patent due diligence in the context of business transactions. The role also involves collaborating with various other practices to provide comprehensive legal services to life science companies.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications.
  • Prepare patent opinion letters and provide patent counseling to clients.
  • Conduct patent due diligence studies for business transactions.
  • Collaborate with other legal practices to offer full services to life science companies.
  • Maintain and manage intellectual property portfolios for clients.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Previous law firm or industry experience.
  • Membership in the U.S. Patent Bar.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Education:

  • Advanced degree in one of the following fields: biology, cellular biology, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, biotechnology, cancer biology, pharmacology, bioengineering, microbiology, or a similar biological discipline.

Certifications:

  • Current U.S. Patent Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Deep understanding of patent law and intellectual property rights.
  • Proficient in patent prosecution processes.
