A law firm in Fort Myers is seeking a dedicated 1st Party Property Damage Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of litigation experience and be a member of the Florida Bar. Experience in evaluating claims and strong negotiation skills are highly valued for this role.

Duties:

  • Provide clients with regular updates and maintain communication with insurance companies regarding the status of claims, demands, and settlement offers.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations on behalf of clients.
  • Evaluate the merits of claims and advise clients on legal options.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on issues related to 1st Party Property Damage claims.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants and other team members to manage caseload effectively.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing records.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience; First Party Property Damage experience is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to achieve favorable settlements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and client advocacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with legal research and drafting legal documents.
