A law firm in New York City is seeking a Corporate M&A Associate Attorney with 4-7 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience handling M&A transactions, particularly with public companies. Strong understanding of corporate law and market terms, effective deal management skills, and a business development-oriented mindset are essential. U.S. law firm experience and outstanding academic credentials are required, while fluency in written and verbal Spanish is considered advantageous.

 

Duties:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction documents.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on corporate and M&A matters.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations and manage due diligence teams.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, opposing counsel, and financial advisors.
  • Assist in the development and execution of transaction strategies.
  • Manage client relationships and participate in business development activities.
  • Stay updated on legal and market developments relevant to M&A transactions.
  • Mentor junior associates and provide guidance on complex legal issues.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, preferably in a leading law firm.
  • Significant experience handling M&A transactions, particularly involving public companies.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law and market terms.
  • Effective deal management skills and ability to handle high levels of responsibility.
  • Business development-oriented mindset.
  • Outstanding academic credentials.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of New York or eligibility for admission.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in written and verbal Spanish is a plus.
