Job Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Associate to join its dynamic Employment Group. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience and will handle a variety of complex employment law matters, including pre-litigation issues, single plaintiff employment cases, systemic discrimination, wage and hour class actions, and Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) representative actions. This position offers significant responsibility, with opportunities to manage cases, work directly with clients, handle depositions, make court appearances, argue motions, and participate in mediations.

Location:

  • Sacramento, CA

Duties:

  • Work on pre-litigation matters, single plaintiff employment disputes, and high-profile cases.

  • Handle systemic discrimination, wage and hour class actions, and PAGA representative actions.

  • Respond to administrative charges and provide counseling on employment-related issues.

  • Manage complex employment law cases and provide strategic advice to clients.

  • Conduct depositions, argue motions, and attend important court hearings.

  • Handle mediations and participate in other legal proceedings related to employment law.

  • Contribute to the firm’s growing Employment Law practice through innovative legal approaches.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of litigation experience, specifically in employment law.

  • Strong academic background with exceptional credentials.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be a member of the California State Bar in good standing.

  • Ability to manage complex legal matters independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Member of the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication abilities.

  • Capability to manage client relationships and complex legal matters.

  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
