Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Crown Point, IN is seeking a skilled and experienced Personal Injury Attorney to manage and oversee a diverse caseload, primarily focused on motor vehicle accidents. The role requires an independent professional capable of handling all aspects of personal injury claims from initiation through resolution with minimal oversight. The position involves coordinating remotely with other firm members located in different regions while ensuring timely case progression.

Duties:

  • Negotiate settlements and manage pre-litigation cases.
  • Review and analyze policies, claims, and case records.
  • Draft, prepare, and argue legal documents in court.
  • Oversee and manage a docket of cases per office policy.
  • Supervise discovery, including medical record assessments and reviews.
  • Lead and guide a team of legal staff (paralegals/case managers) assigned to cases.
  • Ensure strict adherence to deadlines and statutes of limitations, managing case timelines effectively.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in handling personal injury cases, particularly motor vehicle accident claims, from start to finish.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Current law license to practice in the state of Indiana (additional licensing in Illinois is preferred).
  • Ability to travel on occasion as needed.

Education:

Certifications:

  • Valid law license in the state of Indiana (additional Illinois license is preferred).
